Saanidhya dictionary meaning is the spiritual state of being in proximity of something/someone.
In Maheshwar, the river, Narmada, and the Ahilya fort were contiguous, and that juxtaposition was considered divine. The fort represented rigidity, and the Narmada, a symbol of flow. The superior and spiritual state of contiguity was exclusive to Maheshwar. This state birthed phenomena where the river brought fluidity to the rigid ghats, and the ghats paved a concrete path for the fluid river. A sensation of accommodating opposites with grace made this union special.
This collection told the story of such a divine state of contiguity by taking inspiration from various elements of Narmada and the Ahilya fort through their composition to design a range of fabrics.
The Colour palette was created by taking inspiration from the river Narmada and colours created through human activity on the Ahilya fort keeping the festive colourfulness.
The still and standing stone fort, generally perceived to be colourless and faded, gleamed like gold when the rays from the golden sun hit the stone surface. However, the vermillion smeared on the stone surface and the offered flowers from the rituals gave a splash of colour to the onlooker’s eye. It was a sight where bright hues dominated and complemented the earthy tones. Devotees from around all across the country were the catalyst of colours to the massive golden fort.
